Aligarh : A three-member delegation of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) comprising the Registrar, Mr Abdul Hamid (IPS), Prof Arshi Khan (International Relations Coordinator) and Mr Hamza Sufiyan (Vice President, AMU Students Union) visited the Turkish Embassy and met His Excellency, Mr Sakir Ozkan Torunlar, the ambassador of the Republic of Turkey.
The Embassy received the delegation warmly and the AMU Registrar, Mr Abdul Hamid (IPS) delivered the Vice Chancellor’s letter to the ambassador followed by tokens of appreciation.
A detailed discussion lasting about one hour was held and the ambassador showed interest in some of the best faculties in the University. He emphasized on the need for exploring areas of mutual interests corresponding to formalize some Memorandums-of-Understanding after due procedure.
The AMU Registrar also requested the ambassador to invite the Turkish President to the annual convocation. In this regard, it was decided to pursue the issue after clearance from the Ministries of Human Resource Development and External Affairs, Government of India.
Further interactions are expected between His Excellency and the AMU Vice Chancellor.
